XType Drivetrain whine ?any new info (721 views) (3224 thread views) 
Message: Hello,

I know that there have been a number of posts regarding the 70 mph drivetrain whine on present and past Xtypes AWD. Most recent was October '04.

Does anyone have any additional recent information or experience with this problem, particularly on 2004 models?

So far the information I have found here and other boards involves:
1)Prop shaft or differential replacement
2)Installation of sound deadening material.
3)Inherent characteristic of car, i.e. live with it.
