Message: As much as I love my steel bodied VDP with the supercharger package it does not compare at all to the modern 04 and up XJ's.

advantages of the aluminum body

400lbs lighter
air suspension
6 speed vs. 5 speed
more air bags that are adaptive vie radar and weight sensors
more power-the huge bottle neck in the intake tube was fixed on the 4.2 engine
larger interior
touch screen navigation
xenon lights
huge difference in fuel economy

I drive them back to back at work. The 04 and up, are quieter, smoother, and faster.

But they don't have that low body look and style...

If you're after style go with a clean steel body that was well taken care of. If you want the best car, then it's the aluminum body.
