Message: I agree. i had a similar "just live with it" hard shift on my car but I wouldnt give up. The tech found that it was a sticky faulty throttle. Once the throttle was replaced and tranny reflahed with updated software problem gone (software initially did not fix the issue alone). Problem was ocurring on another vehicle in the dealer as well and they fixed both with new throttles so I guess it may have been a defect at manufacture.

A 90k XJR shouldnt really have "quirky" shifting issues.
