If Jaguar manufactured 100,000 S-types and 1,000 needed transmissions replaced that is only 1%, not a common problem. You are posting to a message board where nearly everyone posting is posting because of a problem not because there car is working fine. Your perspective is skewed. Transmission failures on the S-type are not that common and a class action lawsuit would go no where and I doubt you could find a lawyer that would even handle the case.
