2003 ZF Gearbox problems. Anybody else ? (4897 views) (37552 thread views)

Hi All,

I have been experiencing a lurching with this 6-speed ZF gearbox since new (11/02).

This is a small lurch which occurs as you very slowly come to a rest. Just before you come to a complete halt the gearbox lurches down a gear. This can vary between a small lurch to a very noticeable nudge.

Also, when coming to a rest .. but not fully at a halt, if I gently acceleate away it came sometimes thump/snatch into gear.

I commented on this problem within a few weeks of purchasing the car. Jaguar have re-flashed the gerabox many times but so far say they can find nothing wrong with it.

I normally post on the JagTalk forum and KNOW that this IS a problem - but wondered if anyone from here has experienced these problems, and total lack of solution from Jagaur.

I am in contact with 6 other owners with this problem and wondered if anyone here with this problem would be willing to join us in trying to get Jaguar to take notice ?
