My procedure (long) - Detailing and Car Care Forum

I'm a charter member of the ARZOA and I'll be redoing my Jet Black from scratch as soon as the weather gives me a warm day. The flow will go like this:

1. Wash (Dawn)
2. Clay (Clay Magic) ½ capful Z-7 to 12 oz. water for lubricant
3. Wash (Zaino Z-7)
4. Clean (3M Swirl Mark Remover)
5. Polish (3M Imperial Hand Glaze)
6. Final Polish (P21S Gloss Enhancing Paint Cleanser)
7. Wash (Zaino Z-7)
8. Wipe (Zaino Z-6)
9. Wax (Z-2/ZFX or Z-5/ZFX)
10. Wipe (Zaino Z-6)
11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 twice a day.

3M Swirl Mark Remover:
“Do not apply in direct sunlight or onto a hot surface.”
“Polish small areas, about one to two square feet.”
“Dispense a quarter-size drop of material onto a clean, soft, cotton terry cloth towel and apply to the paint surface using a firm circular motion.”
“Rub until dry, turning the cloth to assist clean-up. Repeat as necessary.”

3M Imperial Hand Glaze:
“Do not apply in direct sunlight or onto a hot surface.”
“Wash and dry vehicle. Shake container well before using.”
“Apply to a clean, soft, cotton terry cloth towel and spread uniformly over one panel at a time using a firm, circular motion,”
“Wipe off using a clean, soft, micofiber towel and polish to a brilliant lustre.”

P21S Gloss Enhancing Paintwork Cleanser:
“Wash and dry car. Shake bottle well. Do not apply to hot surface.”
“Use slightly damp sponge to apply and rub on surface using back and forth motion.”
“Buff out using clean microfiber towel.”

Zaino Z-6 Ultra Clean "Gloss Enhancer" Spray:
Use sparingly, very lightly mist a small 1' x 1' section at a time and immediately wipe with a 100% cotton towel, turning towel frequently, until completely slick and dry. Repeat until entire vehicle is done. Do not let Z-6 dry on car without wiping. If product drying occurs before wiping, reapply Z-6 to affected areas and repeat drying procedure. Less than one ounce will do an average size vehicle.

Zaino Z-2 or Z-5 plus ZFX:
Fill a 2 ounce bottle half full with Z-2 or Z-5 and add four drops of ZFX. Shake vigorously for 60-90 seconds and let it sit for five minutes. Shake again for ten seconds before using. Dampen the applicator with water or Z-6 and apply the polish sparingly. Allow to dry completely (approximately 20 minutes). To test if Z-2 or Z-5 is dry and ready to be removed wipe your finger on a hazed section. It should immediately come off and leave a crystal clear finish. If it smears, it is still wet. Buff off the polish residue using a high quality microfiber towel. After buffing, spray the car with a light mist of Z-6 and buff with a clean microfiber towel working in small areas..
