I have a Black Sapphire Metallic e46 and with the sunny weather out lately, I've been itching to really detail my car. But I no longer have the desire to spend an entire Saturday detailing by hand and have finally decided to pick up a PC ROB. The only problem is that I can't seem to find any.
None of the big box hardware stores near me even seem to carry Porter Cable products other than some drills and smaller tools and many other places are out of stock, back ordered or need a special order. Is there a newer version or alternative I can get?
Also, I am going to be picking up all new compounds and waxes. I've been using Meguiars for years (start to finish: cleaner, polisher and wax), but over the years the products seem to have been losing the quality finish they used to give. Most of the research I have done lately seems to pull up info dated from the late 90s to early 2000s. I will be trying Zaino to finish, but will appreciate any tips on where to start with washes, paint cleaners, polishing compounds, etc.
