Burly, could you please elaborate more on what you mean by "distortion"? (Because we can interpret appearance cues differently.)
I cannot see optical distortion when I use the 2180. It produces improvement on color depth, hue, and the perceived thickness of the clearcoat. I haven't experienced optical distortion, just very high DOI (Distinction of Image) factor, and optical surface smoothness.
I experimented with 2180/Z2Pro previously on big panels and small panels to see possible side-by-side differences or signature appearance cues.
When salespeople at Rolls-Royce and Bentley are demonstrating the chosen colors for the customer, they show them a little carlike object, to let them better realize the color scheme/reflections/exact color perceptions, etc. I must agree, small details show the color rather good, and I myself use to apply products onto a small model car just to see similar details - from another point of view than the Rolls/Bentley customers.
Here you can see a little Mazda toy, with 2180 and Z2Pro on its hood side by side. As much as I want, I cannot see any profound difference, let alone optical distortion.
