Message: hey, I just did my first Zaino here in the Bay Area, too.

I started w/ Dawn, then claybar w/ Z7 spritzer. Then z7 wash. then Z5/ZFX (I think this step replaces z1 or z2), then z6 spritz, then z5/zfx, then z6 sprits. I applied w/ the applicator that came w/ Zaino, and removed w/ the microfiber towels from bimmerworld.

When I did the z5/zfx piece on the right rear corner that was in the sun, I found it a little harder to get off. I just pressed a litter harder. i also found that it was easier to remove the 2nd time after I had done the interim z6.

...so, i think your problem (humbly) might have been 1) you didn't do the "whole shebang" (???) or 2) you left the polish on too long and in the sun to boot.
