Message: After a lot of work I have found the answer to the tire problem on our cars. I hate the run flats that came on my 07 z06. I have a friend with a great tire shop and my tires were gone. I hated the idea of spending another 2k on run flats that are loud and perform poorly. I could buy top notch Michelin sports for under 1500. The problem, I drive my car and I did not want to be stuck on the side of the road. My friend with the tire shop said he has a customer that solved this problem, A SPARE TIRE KIT, that fits too. He had a customer that had the same problem with an engineering background. He has come up with a super narrow, Corvette wheel, that fits in the trunk with jack and you can still fit the top in the trunk. I think he said they had a basic kit and the OEM style polished narrow wheel too. Pretty cool. I will give you his info if interested.
