| Message: | Hello all. I have an 06 X3 3.0i SE Sport (bear with me), having just sold my 1998 E39 SE Touring (hence my screen name) (and I had an E34 before that). All great cars. I also have a 2000 Jaguar XKR. A fantastic car. But I love BMWs so much, and I have recently seen an 06 Z4 coupe (3.0i SE). And I have to have one! But are they as good as I hope they are? What are the main gripes/problems/issues with them? Despite all that, are they still the same quality and feel that I have come to love about BMWs generally? The XKR is amazing, and is possibly not a direct comparison for the Z4. But what I find so appealing is: - the styling! - the BMW look and feel and its "tightness" - V6 3.0 fuel injected, instead of V8 4.0 supercharged (fuel is about GB£6/US$11 per imperial gallon in the UK) - more practicality (2 x golf clubs or 2 x dogs in the back) - but most of all, the fun of driving it! (I am waiting to test drive one but I am sure it is more like a refined sports car than the rocket-ship armchair I have now) I appreciate this is perhaps a slightly vague question, but I was hoping to get a general feel for whether you guys think "Get one!" or "Hmm. They are OK. But the Jag is probably better." THANK YOU! | ||||
