| Message: | I had the 1200 mile service done on my 09 M3 Sedan recently and all of a sudden there is grinding sound coming from the differential during tight cornering, as when driving up the ramps in a parking garage. I have an E46 M3 which had the same problem so luckily I knew about the special diff fluid with extra lubricants. I brought it back to the dealer and was told the correct fluid had been used during the change out. I pushed it and finally the shop foreman told the SA about a service bulletin about the proble. It turns out to be the same service bulletin that was issued for the E46 M3, updated for the new model. The number is SI B33 01 02 dated January 2009 which superecedes the same bulletin dated March 2008. The part number for the special diff fluid is 83 22 2 282 583. They will only use if the customer complains about the noise, but it should be used for every diff fluid change after first use. The new fluid fixed the problem. jeff Jeff Boston, MA | ||||
