| Message: | I just bought an M3 private party in Birmingham- I live in Portland OR. I have shipped my car across the country 4 times. I will say you need to consider the following: Door to Door vs. Yard to Yard vs. Door to Yard to Yard to Door Covered vs. Open Reputation I am using Specialty Mobile which is door to door service and covered. A little more than I wanted to spend but trust me it is worth it. I have used DAS, the price is right if you go yard to yard, but you are going to cringe when you see the yards. This is where repo's, wrecks and towed vehicles go- not new $50K plus cars. Typically dusty, unpaved and very nasty (although usually secure). I am anxiously waiting for my car now, but I can sleep at night knowing that my car is secured in the transporter with other cars costing the same or 4 to 5 times as much. Plus I can talk to the driver as often as I want and get an update. Do some web searching, I found a site with user reviews for all of the carriers.
