Re: First I would try again at the smog- (79 views)
Message: Well I probably would sell it whole accept in CA it’s the sellers responsibility to pass smog before selling it.

I’ve thought about donating to a non profit that helps single moms who needs a car but then again it needs to pass smog and feel bad it would cost several hundred dollars to fix.
Even worst I’d feel bad giving her a car with TRX tires!

I know junk yards are a rip off and give you little but it’s a catch 22. If you take off what you want they don’t want the body and I’m stuck with a shell to get rid of. (I’m sure my wife and neighbors won’t appreciate it.) I know these car are common because I find many of them in the junk yard each time I go. Oh yeah if anyone wants an L7 leather dash I saw one at Pick your part in Hayward last week no cracks but is slightly warp above the right a/c vents about a ¼ of an inch.

Yeah my 735i is a rust free car and has the original converter after 280,000 miles. I think it needs new injectors or a cleaning which I’m not willing to spend that much money on.

Thanks for the feedback and appreciation of these cars. I would keep it but I picked up a 01 530i with a 5 speed and have 4 bimmers and a pickup and only 2 drivers in our household. Wife is wondering about me with so many vehicles.

Well for you geeks who like to look at numbers here are the emission numbers:

I then changed the O2 sensor and spark plugs and here is what I got:
