How have you guys junked your cars? (135 views) (856 thread views)
Message: Well I took my 85' 735i in for the second time today after changing the O2 sensor and spark plugs and it failed again by about 50ppm on the nox at 25 mph so I've decided to junk my car rather than poor money into it.

I went to the BMW junk yard and they offered me $300 for it. If I pulled the 5 speed transmission they wouldn't even take it. Pick your Parts said they may give me $50 without a transmission.

If anyone has a creative way of getting rid of the cars I'd like to hear it. Also if you know whether a 260 getrag bolts directly in place of a 280 getrag on an M6 I'd like to know.

After 15 years with this car it's kind of sad to give up this car but everything has to go at some point. While changing the 02 sensor I realized how easy this car is to work on 5 minutes to change the 02 sensor. Not on my e34 535i or m6 in which one end of the exhaust has to be dropped to make it easier. At 280,000 miles I'm still on the original radiator and alternator.

Thanks guys,

Winston
