| Message: | | Well, my E92 335 had accrued around 21,000 miles since my purchase in January, and the RFT 'Stones were down to about 1mm from the wearbar on the rears. So I ventured out and got a set of non-RFT Continental Conti SportContact 3's today. The Conti's should have similar dry-road performance, should last longer, and they seem to ride better (although that is last on my list even with as much driving as I do). Oh, and lest I forget--the Conti's cost me about $400 less out the door. The key word here is "should," so I will keep this board posted on what actually takes place. Next stop is Hendrick to buy a slime kit.
It is not that I disliked the performance of Bridgestone RFT's; in fact they have excellent grip, feedback, and a decent ride. However, I do think the 'Stones are overpriced, and if I can get 35K-40K out of cheaper, similar-performing tires, I will be ahead of the game in my mind. Just my '02 cents....
