Message: I like the idea of a 1-series in principle. But I don't think it'll be what I want. That is, I want something more spiritually akin to the old 2002, or the E36. Even like the Evo or STi or Mini. Something light, simple, fast, and raw.

If it's just a smaller 3-series, then I would just go with the 335. It would have to have a different character to entice me. But I have a feeling it'll just be a scaled-down 3-series.
