The idle on my car is a bit rough. too, but I have put off doing anything to the WUR. Mine may be gunked up. I can barely see the stupid thing so I may let my friend, the AC guy mentioned above, take it off. There are instruction online somewhere, and the unit does not look too complicated to open and clean. Volvos had a similar regulator but in a different location.

You drive your 320i 80 miles to work? Awesome. I only drive 4 miles on local roads so in winter, I go a couple of exits on the interstate just to get the engine warm and drive out condensation.

Any thoughts on converting to synthetic oil? Have you tried it? All the best...
