| Message: | Hi Folks, Have any of you installed a Sanden rotary compressor recently (or ever?). My AC with R12 and the square York compressor is not cooling very well and the local AC guy, who still has R12 cans, said he was not sure what the problem was other than age. I looked at my notebook and my York was installed in 1990, so it's clearly outlived its design life. The latest discussion about compressors I saw in the forums was 2006. Since then, fewer and fewer people are still driving E21s, but maybe someone can advise on what he (she) did for AC repair. Pelican Parts has the adapter kit to mount a Sanden compressor, but one thing to consider is do I want to spend the money to retrofit an aging car that has other minor issues? The other side of the argument is climate: this is Mississippi and the air conditioner gets used 9 or 10 months of the year. In mid-summer, I tend to drive the old 320i so the newer 530i can stay home in the garage out of the sun. Thanks for comments or ideas. | ||||
