I don't think the ECU would do it... (79 views) 
Message: With the K-jetronic, I think the car should start and run no matter whether the ECU is working or not, since its role is only for fine-tuning the air/fuel ratio.

-double check the ign. timing, it could be 180 degrees out
-verify visually that fuel is in fact coming out the injectors and that spark is occuring at the plugs
-only thing left after that is the cam/timing chain
