| Message: | | I have a 2006 BMW X5 3.0i. I have had an intermittent electrical problem for the past 2 years. Occasionally the interior lights will come on and remain on for varying lengths of time. Sometimes they fade in and fade out repeatedly. Sometimes the "Door Open" indicator will come on while driving. When the car is locked and no one is around, the alarm system will activate, including the audible siren alarm and flashers. At other times, only the flashers will activate. These will remain on for a short period of time and go off, then after a minute or so, will re-activate.
I suspect a defective door switch, but could be the computer mis-reading the door sensors.
One last thing, I noticed that when the battery is dead, you cannot open any of the doors from the INSIDE! You can open the Driver's door with the key, but none of the others will open - not even the rear.
