| Message: | I also had trouble programming my 04 X5 (and other cars with HomeLink) After repeated calls to HomeLink and Genie, I finally talked to someone who told me that not all the remotes are compatible with HomeLink. Specifically I have 3 button Genie key fob remotes, and the biggest button does not work. Programming my car was just a matter of programming another button on the remote to work with the door, and then programming the car. Using this method, you can program multiple garage doors from a one button remote (these seem to work better anyway) Just program the remote to work with the door you want to control, and then program the car, per the instructions in the manual.
