I went through costco program and was quoted about $800 over invoice (about $6000 off MSRP with several options) on the diesel x5. Was told price might be even better if I picked it up at performance center. It is worth using one of these programs to get best price and then pick the dealer you like most - they should match the price.

May pull the trigger in the coming weeks, but I believe you should have plenty of negotiating room on the diesel.
