| Message: | I took my 2002 X5 in for service at the dealership. Roughly 75,000 miles. It needed an oil change. The advisor told me it would be around $100 over the phone. However, when I went in this morning the advisor told me it's around $250. When I told him that I was told that it is around $100 over the phone. He said that is a plain oil change and the check engine light is not reset at that price as they need to do their 120? point check. I ended up leaving it to get it done. I got a call a couple hours and was told only 3mm is left on the rear brakes and that they need to be done too. I told the advisor that the brake light had not yet gone off and that I didn't feel comfortably doing work that the computer on the car says does not need to be done. He said that the light would go off any day now and that it made more sense to get the work done. I asked him if I would save money by getting them done now. The advisor say I'd save around $50-70 dollars. The whole bill is going to come out to about $820. I am thinking this is crazy. Can someone tell me how much of a premium I am paying by going to this dealership? Can someone recommend a good BMW Service Dealership in Ventura County? Thanks! | ||||
