| Message: | Have an '01 4.4. Replaced control arm bushings May '07 with 110,000 miles. Now have 125,000 miles. Different mechanic says bushings are cracked. When I asked him to show me, he says there not exactly cracked, but stretched and points to an area that is shiny compared to the other areas on the bushing. Says this will cause a clunking sound under hard braking. My questions are: Does this sound correct? How could the bushings wear out in 15K miles of usual driving? Thanks | ||||
