| Message: | Just got done installing the CD changer in the X3. NOt much out there to help with this so far, so if anyone needs some help here it is: 1.You must have the install kit (65-12-0-305-805) or the changer will just rattle around. 2. Yes it goes in the center armrest where the small black bin is now. To see the space more clearly just lift straight up on the black plastic bin. It is held in with three steel spring clips. 3. The X3 is pre-wired for this. Two jacks are tucked into the bottom of the armrest and are wrapped with a foam cloth velcrow fastened cover. 4. You do not have to remove the entire console. I did it by lifting the rear up enough to get to everything. 5. Big trick is to remove the cup holder at the front, then the rear seat ash tray, then the two 10mm bolts at the rear, then the two small phillips screws at the rear sides, then the two screws at the top fromt and then the console will lift up. 6. Total install time is about 1 and 1/2 hours. 7. Install kit was about $40 from Circle BMW and the changer (82-11-0-028-760) about $325. | ||||
