Re: 2007 X3 - How to replace the rear brake light (61 views) 
Message: Access to the driver-side brake light is not through that panel - it's in the fixed part of the body immediately adjacent.

Just squeeze the release tabs for the plastic circuit board that the 3 bulbs are mounted on, and replace the bad one - with the appropriate 21W single filament bulb.

A 5 minute job, or less.
