| Message: | | Do you also get a faint little stumble when accelerating through 2200-2900 rpms? It's generally very subtle so can be difficult to notice. I've talked to a couple of other X3 owners, besides myself, with the intermittent check engine light and stumble problem. All of us had spent similar amounts as you cahsing the problem. O2 sensors, fuel filters, fuel pumps, regulators and relays. Recently one of them found a TSB on it that said it needs a specific software uprade. Unfortunately this particular upgrade can in some instances fry your computer. Which of course it did his and he is waiting on a rebuilt unit - 2 weeks. (he had his done at an independent shop who discovered the subsequent TSB warning of the potential for computer failure after it was too late. BMW is replacing the computer but you don't get the fast service you would if they had fried it.) Have your dealer see if they can locate the TSB and have them do the reprogram so the computer is covered if they fry it.
