| Message: | As this question seems to come up each year, here are a few updates: (1) Sometime around 2007 the alarm kit was redesigned and the three modules consolidated into two. (I think the tilt module for the cargo area was dropped.) (2) The link in this thread to the PDF instructions seems dead. This one should work: http://www.b m w motor sports.org/pdf/X3_Alarm_Instructions.pdf (after you remove the spaces). (3) I have replaced my 2004 X3 with a 2008. When the finance people again tried to sell me the alarm, I told them I did the install myself on the '04 and planned to do it on the '08 as their price was too high. After very little negotiation, they cut their price considerably, so I can't provide any insight on whether the job is now easier the second time around. | ||||
