| Message: | | Thanks for the heads-up Kevin! It's not what I wanted to see. I love my X3 and right now it has a sentimental value. I hope that with the recent software upgrade that it will correct the issue. I agree with the comments in the Bimmerfest forum that if you use it in manual mode it drives like a true BMW. However, when I experienced the problem when the trans will not shift, I could not switch to manual mode at that point. The only way to drive it again was to pull over, turn it off, wait for a minute and restart. I also agree that it could be a life threatening situation as I was lucky that it occurred while I was on local roads trying to merge when I suddenly lost power and the car behind me almost hit me. I have 20,600 miles and 95% of which were happy times. Also, I recently had the thermostat replaced due to overheating. I was not happy about having a BMW towed because this is the first BMW that I've owned that needed towing. Even my E30 was never towed nor did it leave me stranded.
