First time poster here. Glad I found a place to discuss our new car.

I recently purchased a used 2004 BMW X3 2.5 with 50,000 miles. The only problem I'm having is this....the low coolant light constantly comes on. I opened the radiator while hot and the plunger is up and I can see a brownish colored fluid. I checked it when it was cold and the plunger was really down, so I added water and it popped right up.

Any idea why the light would keep coming on when it seems there is plenty of fluid?
