Message: I'm coming off a 2004 X3 2.5l lease in Feb and am torn about its replacement. (Will not keep current X3 because 2.5l is a tad anemic -- but really drives nicely for an SUV at 35k miles.) I am really undecided between the 2007 328xi wagon @230HP and the 2007 X3 @260HP, both with almost identical interior dimensions (except for cargo hold). I am leaning toward the wagon as I don't need the additional road clearance of the X3, as our snows in Western North Carolina are not deep, and the gas mileage of the wagon should be slightly superior. The appointments of the wagon seem slightly superior to the X3 IMHO, and the handling is a bit more "classic 3" in nature. Plus the X3 is due a major update in 2008 I believe.
