Re: Thank You for the Detailed Review! (548 views)
Message: Your posts are always among the best on this site; your input was helpful as I configured and waited (and waited) for my X3. Congratulations on receiving (finally) your new vehicle and thank you for the great review. I agree with all of your points and would like to second several of your observations:

1) I ordered a black sapphire 2.5i, primarily due to initial concern over the black bumpers. However, I purchased an alpine white model last week, the day my dealer received the vehicle into his inventory. Black bumpers not only offer superior utility, they look great; I'm now a fan of the design. For the record, my vehicle is alpine white with beige leather, dark wood, premium package, xenon headlights (awesome), privacy glass and heated seats.

2) 2.5 version offers ample power and acceleration. I cannot adequately describe how I obsessed over the 2.5 vs. 3.0 decision, but after a week of driving my vehicle, I remain pleased that I made this choice.

3) The standard stereo sounds fantastic. I am an audiophile, but I can't imagine requiring more from a sound system in an automobile.

4) I don't understand all of the comments and reviews regarding the cheap/plastic appearance of the interior. I enjoy the simple, utilitarian, yet elegant look. It is appropriate for the type of vehicle.

5) I didn't drive the sport version, so I don't know whether the negative comments and reviews regarding the harsh ride are on point or not, but the non-sport version offers the type of ride that one would expect of a BMW.

6) I second the positive opinions regarding the panorama roof - it's essential!
