850’s – 9
850CSi’s – 4
330’s – 2 (yes, non 8 series cars are welcome)
Total 25

Drivers and passengers – 43

RI – 1
MI – 1
CT – 1
MA – 1
NJ – 3
NY – 7
PA – 1
VA – 3
DC,MD,DE – 7
Total 25

There are still at least a dozen known 8 owners in the Northeast that I have not heard from yet, however with 25 cars, don’t you think we can plan on this now ????? From the map below, it appears the best place to hold this would be along the eastern seaboard.

The recommendations at this point are:

  • Newport, RI
  • Atlantic City
  • Spring Lake on the Jersey Shore
  • Cape May, NJ.

Any further comments on these ????

I’m waiting on a few of you who promised to check out some of the places in the above list and I’m also checking with BMW NA, Roundel and a few others. I’ll need help with contacting sponsors (those who advertise in the Roundel and others who are local to the site we decide upon. Some of you have already volunteered to help, so I’ll be contacting you soon.

Please post your opinion on the following

  • The first day is spent driving to the event, one day at the event and the third day is spent driving home (3 days total)
  • The first day is spent driving to the event, two days at the event and the fourth day is spent driving home (4 days total)

This may depend upon the site we pick, but a general idea would be good in order to facilitate lodging when we start looking. Personally, since this is probably, at best, a once/year event, I favor a more relaxed two day event if we can get enough activities to fill the time, this makes the drive a bit more worth it too...plus, if in fact we do end up with around 50+ people, it’s difficult to get to know that many in one day. I’m thinking that one day can be for car ogling, drooling and cleaning up the saliva while the other day can be more of a fun day for us with our significant others.

Ok, pls review all this, post your thoughts, email me if you’d like and for some, expect an email from me as we select the site and sponsors.

Thanks for your interest ! I guess now I better get my car in shape.

Marty
