Message:

If you just disconnect the EDC from the shocks and secure the wiring out of the way it won't cause any fault lights or error codes. The console switch will still illuminate green, but the controller won't do anything.

You may want to plug or somehow occlude the opening in the front strut (I assume you are re-using the strut housing) to minimize water getting into the strut housing.
