| Message: | | Is the steering wheel locked? Did you try just barely putting in the tip of the key and turning counter-clockwise to make sure it is fully in the off position? You could TRY calling a locksmith to come out and take a look at it as well.
If none of the above works, then you may just need a new ignition lock mechanism. I had a "somewhat" similar experience on a car, but in my case the key became stuck in the lock, and could NOT be removed even by a locksmith. He came on site and replaced the mechanism. I don't know it they can do it with an 8 series though (the car was a Mercury)
