EML dash light is on (90 views) (468 thread views) 
Message: So here's the problem: The EML light came on my 96 850ci. I checked the usual suspects: I had cleaned the DKs last year, I checked and they are still clean. Batteries are only about a year old, and are holding a charge. Checked all fuses in front box.. ok.

Ran the car for a short drive and checked the exhaust manifolds, both are hot. Car starts, idles and drives as normal. It seems to be running on all 12 cylinders. I hooked up a code tester, and it says there are no trouble codes or pending trouble codes.

What's the next step?
