You're gonna find tons of e31 folk with no sense of humor. I gave up on them 7 years ago. There's a few but far and away the majority don't play well with others who think outside the box. They think the e31 is the holy grail of cars and anyone who says otherwise is an alien. You should have been around when the occasional drive by sniper would toss "the e31 looks like a ford probe" bomb into the sandbox. You'd never thought grown adults could act so childishly.
Engine fires are old news. Happened all the time in 750's for a while. I even saw one personally. And at least 4 cars on this board have previously been destroyed.
