| Message: | Understand that but a voltage differential between the tube and ground would be the sign of actual insulation leakage. Then the path to chassis ground comes into play. If there isn't any leakage thru the insulation you would be good to go even with a ground path thru the tube. If there is leakage it should be measurable as a voltage/potential to ground unless the tube is already a dead short to ground and that would be noticeable as heat, smoke or a really short battery charge life.
