| Message: | After almost a year of research and experimentation, I managed to get a OEM BMW sat nav to operate without a fixed i-bus environment. Just need to tidy up the wires and make some enclosures. I did my test fit today and the next step is to remove the MID and old radio to fit the Sat Nav. I have done my measurements and the screen will fit provided the rear screen locating lug is removed. I want to keep my original Bezel, so I am after one from a breakers yard to hack up. I am having trouble locating one, so if any of you guys know of a RHD bezel, please email me. I am looking forward to driving the ONLY 8 in the world with OEM factory Satellite Navigation. Adding a multifunction steering wheel from a pre 1999 E39 with mean that the buttons will now be operational. Though I havent got a MF steering wheel yet, this project will be on the cards early next year. With this installation in place, placing the key in the ignition now means you are greeted with the ===BMW=== logo. starting the car brings up the map, and all the funtions into operation (bar the MPG which i can happly live without) enjoy.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||||
