| Message: | Kirt, Does that o-ring sit inside the output flange housing or inside the tranny? The only o-ring I could find is part#12 in the linked Realoem diagram. Is that o-ring replaceable only when taking the tranny apart while rebuilding? I suspect in my tranny the original o-ring has worn out and allows a small amount of ATF to pass through into the splines. That may apply to Syd's transmission too if the mechanics has not changed out or cannot change out an aged o-ring. I vaguely remember reading some past post that there is an o-ring mounted inside the cylindrical opening of a flange, much like the way the o-rings are mounted in the E32 water pump to seal the pipes. But I forget if the author was referring to the tranny output flange or some other flange in the drivetrain. Patrick C 88 750 149K | ||||
