Message: what MOTRONIK do you have/ Remove the MOTRONIK/ECU, on the side there is a sticker from Bosch and the end number should be either
-150 or -179
I have both chips, as well as for the 750 M70 engines with -156 and -362 MOTRONIK and the EML chip.

very popular on the German 7-forum and known as Rottaler2 chips.

That shows the installation on a manual gear 735
if you cannot enlarge the pic on rge 7 forum, the same is here on this website shown

One of the comments on the German 7 forum:

Just yesterday someone on the German 7-forum from Austria testet my M30 -179 chip, here the excerpt from his test run comments with brief translation:

Report1:

735i E 32 built date 87/04 , manual gear, M30B35 engine

brief translation:

I just installed in my 735i M 30 with manual gear built 87/04 the new chip from Erich.
Originally in my car a Bosch MOTRONIK -150 was installed, but I bought another MOTRONIK Bosch no. -179 for this chip from Erich.

I have just tested it and it works without problem. Engine started immy and when the engine had operating temperature I have driven a test round. I am a critical surveyor of such things, but I got real more pull/power/accell already from first gear from 2.500 RPM, and a better performance in 3rd and 4th. I never had thought that I could feel such improvement in performance., honestly speaking.

Also in case of my car the idle dropped to about 650 RPM compared to the original chip, in the beginning after installation the idle was slightly rough, but with each additional new engine start it became better. Car accell really improved nicely, also the engine running is more smooth/quiet.

Report 2:
as already mentioned yesterday the 3rd and 4th gear accells fully, same as it is doing before normally in 2nd and 3rd, the 'hole' in power (Nm) which the 735 has when changing from 3rd to 4th is almost no longer existing.
According to the speed indicator in the cluster I could reach a top speed of close to 240 KMH. With the deviation in reality it should be between 225-230 KMH, as I have a speed indicator deviation of 2.65% because of the different tire size from original.

additional comment by him:

brief translation:
In the afternoon I made another test drive to check the variiations when using standard air intake and open air intake.
In case of the chip from Erich please keep away from open sports filters in air intake, open cones etc. A different airfilter from original installed in the original airfilter box does not matter that much.
The engine starts immy with such a sports filter, but in parking positon or when driving, when revving the engine or let off the pedal, the engine can die. Therefore keep away from sports air filters when using this chip. Use the original airfilter box.
I do not know the reason for this but I assume that it has to be seen in connection with the too warm air in the engine room sucked by the 'sports filters', in coparison to the original filter box from BMW, which gets colder air in the standard system.
