The two latches up by the windscreen are also adjustable. I've had luck doing this as a one man job by just barely loosening the bolts on the hinges and the latches, just enough to be able to move but not slide. Close the hood carefully and move into position using a spacer(something the right thickness for the gap). I made a small "hook" tool out of wood. It is the right thickness for the gap and it is hooked on one end to help pull the hood "up" if it sinks down during adjustment.

Take care that the bolts are not too loose or the hood could close and not want to come open again. The weight of the hood can easily push down the latches and create a "bind", make sure those bolts are only slightly loosened. It's better to go slowly and have them too tight to move at first, then to have the hood stuck down.
