Message: The brake pad light is a separate issue and it will come on when the pad sensors say the pads are low, or need replacement. You didn't say how many miles are on your car, so perhaps you actually need new brake pads.

If the auto stability control light always stays on it probably requires an electronic check of the stability control system. If pushing the stability control button doesn't turn it off, then it requires service. However, driving the car with this light on won't damage anything, but the stability control system is either inoperative, or working at a very minimal level. Some people turn the light on, (which means the system is disabled), when they want to drive the car in a spirited fashion.
