e34 auto to manual conversion problem (206 views) (262 thread views) 
Message: My 92 525iT has build date of 4/92. Donor car for the manual 5-speed transmission has a build date of 11/92. I installed the DME from the donor car also. BMW changed from Motronic 3.1 to Motronic 3.3.1 in 9/92. Will the 3.3.1 DME work for my 3.1 car? It has a no-start condition right now (it will turn over and run with starter fluid).
Since it runs with starter fluid, the ignition side is working.
Main relay and fuel pump relay are good. The DME is not grounding the fuel pump relay or the injectors (although the fuel pump relay and the injectors have positive current from the main relay).
Do I need to get my original 3.1 DME back. The new one I have is Bosch 0 261 200 413. BMW part #1703345.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
