I realize the "5,00" was a typo, but what was it supposed to say? 5000 miles? 15,000 miles?

"Max. Permissible oil consumption is 1 Qt. per 1,000 miles
when testing for oil consumption."

Doesn't that contradict the first statement above? And if it's true, why in the world would BMW tell us to trust the car's computer when it's not going to tell us it's time until we're almost at 15k miles?

I'm confused, but I know I'm glad that I change my oil every 7.5k miles.
