Re: E46 Trunk Smell - UPDATE (246 views)
Message: Thank you leesbimmer for your tip! I owe you big one :)

My worst experience with dealer service :(
Incompetent, rude people who does not much of anything unless there is fault code.
Anyway, it took them 10 days!!! and only AFTER I told them and showed them you post they finally understood where smell comes from.
First 2 days they had my car they just put tons of air refreshner and tried to tell me I spilled something. Only after complaining to manager, sending him email with your post and then just showing him in person what smells he agried to take car back. They even did not give me a loaner even though I bought my car there. After that assigned service advisor and other would not respond to my calls. Finally on Monday I had to call service manager again. Thanks to that I got my car back the same evening. But what a bunch of lying bastards! First of all service manager calls me and says " Your car is just entering a wash so you can poick it up in 30 minutes". I go there 2 hours later and valet guy tells me my car will be washed NOW.
On the work order it says (as I understand) that some pieces were changed together with that smelly one. However when I checked that one is missing. So they simply lied what they did and did not replace, just removed.
I read horror stories about BMW service but never expected it would happen to me. I am so dissapointed I will not buy any extended warranty and maintenance from BMW.
