| Message: | HELP! My car (recently purchased as a certified pre-owned so I don’t know the history) has a foul smell that builds up in the trunk. It is best described as a musty/oily smell. I can deodorize the trunk and if the car sits, the smell will not return. However, if I operate the car, the smell returns after a few minutes. The smell comes up into the passenger cabin whenever the sunroof or a window is opened. I have been to the dealer 3 times and they cleaned the AC system, but that did not help the trunk at all I contend that this is an oil-based smell as if exhaust or burned oil is getting into the trunk as the car is driven. I am ready to start duct taping the trunk to seal it off….. Additionally, I have a fragrant/perfume-like smell coming from the AC system (that also did not go away after servicing the AC | ||||
