Message:

I have a 1986 325es and have noticed that none of the VIN nbr plates are to be found (except the door frame and engine) on any of the major body parts like doors, hood, trunk, front fenders, etc. I am 95% sure that the car is all original and never damaged or painted. Does anyone know if BMW's VIN numbering of body parts schema omitted for my model and year or came into use post 1986?
