| Message: | | I posted this on the A/V bb and not only did I not get any responses, no one even read it so I figured I would give it a shot here.
I have a 2000 BMW 540 with the DSP system. I am not an audiophile but have toyed with the idea of trying to make the front soundstage better without much expense or work on my part. I was thinking of doing the Bavarian Sound Werks speaker upgrade for the front speakers only. I have read on here that most people thought that they didn't gain much from changing the rear speakers because they are only for fill. Also, while I could live with the cost of upgrading the rear speakers, it seems as if to do so involves quite a bit of work and I would probably have to have someone else do whereas I think I could do the front speaker uprgrade myself. Does anyone agree or disagee with doing the fronts only? I know this is a tough question, but for the people that have upgraded the fronts with BSW Rainbow speakers, how much real improvement is there? Is it the type of thing where only a real audiophile would notice it, or would an average person like me think there was a significant improvement in clarity. BTW, none of my speakers are blown or sound the least bit scratchy, so I don't need to do this if there is not much bang for the buck. I have searched this bb for BSW but most of the posts are pretty old and some reference the MB Quatz upgrade rather than the Rainbow upgrade. Thanks for any help.
